Are your beliefs really yours?

I did a reading for a 17 year old girl yesterday. As soon as she sat down in front of me, I got clairvoyant visions that conveyed to me that she was in the process of giving up on her dreams because she could not see how they would manifest. It was as if she was resigning herself to accept a lesser version of what she really wanted for herself in favor of choosing something that others around her made her feel was more ‘safe and practical’. My heart went out to her and I knew I had to focus on receiving messages for her that would help her to regain confidence in her ability to experience the fulfillment of her own goals and vision for herself. So, I helped her to understand how to redirect her attention and her focus in ways that would bring her into vibrational alignment with her goals so they would manifest. She was very happy with her reading and left with a much lighter spirit then she came in with. I felt glad that she came to me when she did.

On the other hand, a part of me came away from the session with a momentary, slight agitation at how unconscious people can sometimes be. In my work, time & time & time again I see people suffering due to the beliefs of other people that they have unconsiously taken on as their own truth. In this case for example, it was apparent that the people who had the most direct influence on the girl I read for were fear stricken people who are right now aligned with the energies of lack & limitation. They in turn convey the presence of lack to her and now she believes that she is up against a world full of lack and limitation which is what was creating her sense of hopelessness regarding the manifestation of her own goals. Of course I didnt say all of this to my client as it felt more constructive to just focus on helping her to find immediate solutions to her current delema. She now knows that her goals are within reach and has some tools to work with in bringing them into fruition.

Everything we experience as children has profound influence on the development of our fundamental beliefs and our fundamental beliefs DIRECTLY influence the reality we create. If we are brought up in a loving, supportive family environment that encourages us to believe in our gifts & dreams, then we become confident in our ability to succeed at whatever we set our minds to. If we grow up in an environment of spiritually unconscious , fear ridden people then we learn from the example of the people around us that life is a struggle, there is no use in daring to dream and that your better off just taking whatever you can get. I was painfully reminded of this dynamic as I read for the girl I read for yesterday. Her hopelessness was a learned behavior, belief or attitude and her alignment with is was distracting her from what her true spiritual essence was guiding her to explore.

As Adults, it is our spiritual responsibility to ourselves to become more conscious of our thoughts, feelings, belifes and to observe how our inner state of being is influencing our reality. Taking the time to really examine your beliefs creates the space for them to shift and grow with the you that you are now. This process of evaluation will set the stage for improving the quality of your own reality and will also pave the way for your children to learn how to be conscious particpants in their realities.

Your children learn from YOUR behaviors. Your behaviour demonstrates your beliefs and your children will unconsciously adopt these behaviors and believes as there own (until they can regain their own consciousness so to speak). If they see you living life from the perspective of expecting lack and limitation then they will believe that this is what reality is about until and will have a tendency to unconsciously create the lack that you showed them how to believe in. On the other hand if your behavior demonstrates to them a life filled with love, support and abundance then they will know no bounds. PLEASE ,PLEASE, PLEASE if nothing else then for the sake of your children and grand children, be aware that you are teaching and leading them through the example of YOUR behavior and response to life. Be conscious about what you are showing them about life and teach them the value of formulating their own beliefs. Everyone will be better for it. You may be surprised at the opportunities for personal growth & increased fulfillment that manifest for you through a simple exercise in self awareness.

The saying “Think Globally, Act Locally” comes to mind. In order to effect positive change of the whole, we need to start with ourselves.
